Parent of a Camper, 2019

As a parent of a first time camper, I cannot express how grateful I am for this opportunity. My child was hesitant at first to go to camp, but stated to us on the day of return that they wished camp was longer and that they had chosen to go last summer (their first opportunity since diagnosis). They also expressed the desire to be a camp counselor in a few years. As a parent, there really isn’t much more I could ask from that type of experience. I so enjoyed seeing all the photos that were being updated on social media. My child has come home with new friends that know what life with epilepsy is like and has been communicating with these friends daily on a group chat since the end of camp. I am grateful to all who helped make this happen: funders, those who have participated in fundraising like local walks, the medical care team at camp, and the Camp Aranzazu staff and counselors. I cannot write down the emotions I feel when I think of what this camp experience meant for my child, my spouse and myself. Please continue to support Camp Brainstorm!
