To spotlight the people the Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas helps, check out our weekly blog called, “An Inside Look.” This week read about how monthly giving helps people with epilepsy lead meaningful, independent lives.
The importance of consistency and donor loyalty
In epilepsy, consistency is key to seizure management. People with epilepsy must consistently see their epileptologist or neurologist, take their medications, and avoid situations that may trigger a seizure.
Every month, our EFCST team has a reminder system to make sure our patients go to their medical appointments and have their medications. Our goal is for our patients to be seizure free.
To help us help our patients achieve better seizure control, we invite you to support us as a monthly donor. Your ongoing support of our services means you value our dedication to our patients.
Your monthly gift will mean a lot to us. Let’s break down how it matters:
- .50 per day, $15 per month, helps provide answers to newly diagnosed people with epilepsy and their caregivers.
- $1.00 per day, $30 per month, helps when we meet with families and provide epilepsy information, referral, and support to families desperate to learn more about epilepsy.
- $2.00 per day, $60 per month, helps provide seizure recognition and first-aid training to ensure safe schools for children with epilepsy.
Services like our free seizure clinics and emergency medication program also rely on gifts that we receive from individuals like you. When we receive monthly gifts, it helps us improve more lives.
How do I become a monthly donor?
We accept donations three ways: by phone, mail, or online. You can set up a monthly gift easily through our website with a credit card. If you use online banking, you can also set up a recurring gift direct from your account through your bank’s website.
We count on support from individuals who understand what people with epilepsy are going through.
Setting up monthly giving online
To set up your monthly gift, go to EFCST.org. In the top right corner, click the Give button. The first option is Give a Gift Online.
You can either select to support a specific service, or you can enter a custom amount. Once you’ve added that to your cart, you can check out. In the checkout, there is the option to make either a one-time payment, or to create a payment plan.
Our giving plans include every two weeks, every month, or every quarter. From there, you enter your payment information, and now you are a recurring donor! Thank you!
Other ways of giving
You may have workplace giving where you designate your gift amount to a charity via payroll deduction done by your employer. On EFCST’s Give page, you can see our Community Health Charities and Combined Federal Campaign number is 15422 and our Texas SECC campaign information. We also receive workplace giving funds via the United Way and other online giving systems used by companies.
For more information about giving, contact us at (210) 653-5353 or email us at Staff@EFCST.org. You can also fill out our contact form on our website. Remember, any gift you make helps a person with epilepsy lead an independent life. We can all agree that’s a goal worth striving for!
