School Nurse Training
Managing Students with Seizures: A Training for School Nurses is a comprehensive accredited training program developed in partnership with the National Association of School Nurses (NASN). Classroom based trainings include Continuing Education hours and the Managing Students with Seizures: A Quick Reference Guide for School Nurses Reference Guide. This CNE training is also available online through NASN.
Seizure Training for School Personnel
This training program was developed as a standardized educational tool for training school personnel. Teachers and other personnel are key factors in promoting positive social & educational outcomes for the student with epilepsy. Appropriate training helps to ensure full integration into all school activities & minimizes stigma.
Seizures and You: Take Charge of the Facts
This epilepsy awareness program and curriculum has been designed to educate teens and tweens ages 11-18. This evidence based program focuses on basic seizure recognition & first aid, and can be completed in one 45 minute class period. The training meets Health Education Standards 4 & 5 of the National Education Standards for Middle and High Schools. This program has educated over 20,000 students in middle and high schools annually.
Because You Are My Friend
This training program is designed to raise awareness about epilepsy by educating elementary age children through the use of flip charts, “seizure buddies”, story time, and videos. The training teaches children about epilepsy and first aid in an age appropriate format.
